Where has the time gone? It’s flown by, and with that, let’s get to the point.
Have you noticed how sometimes a situation happens, and we feel something, but instead of acknowledging it, we brush it off? Maybe it’s inconvenient, or we’re not sure what to do with it, so we push it aside. But does that feeling truly disappear? Perhaps for a little while, but usually, it lingers, stored somewhere within us. Over time, it can start to spill into other areas of our life—showing up as missteps, recurring frustrations, or emotions we can’t quite place.
So, why not acknowledge it? Why not release it before it overspills? Do we need things to go wrong, or emotions to build up, before we finally pay attention? It’s easy to blame a person or situation, but remember: that feeling is yours, not theirs. Just saying.
Yes, sometimes it’s wise to hold off if the timing isn’t right. Or maybe we’ve seen others overwhelmed by their emotions and don’t want to go down that path. But continually ignoring it doesn’t make it go away. We often end up needing something bigger to shake us awake.
So, why not break the cycle? Next time you feel tempted to push an emotion aside, take a moment. Ask yourself, why not sit with this feeling and let it pass through?
